Course Outline
Overview
Security officers play an important role in managing crowd movement and traffic flow to ensure safety, order, and smooth operations during daily activities, events, and incidents. Effective crowd and traffic control helps to prevent congestion, minimise risks, and maintain public safety.
With increasing public gatherings and vehicular movement, security officers must be equipped with the appropriate knowledge and skills to manage crowds and traffic professionally and efficiently. Well-trained security officers are able to assess situations, apply control measures, and respond appropriately to ensure the safety of pedestrians, motorists, and the public.
The Conduct Crowd and Traffic Control (CCTC) course focuses on equipping security officers with the essential competencies to manage crowds and traffic flow in accordance with operational requirements, safety procedures, and established protocols.
Course Aim
On successful completion of this course, participants will acquire the essential knowledge and application skills to conduct crowd and traffic control duties effectively and to take appropriate actions in response to crowd or traffic-related situations.
Learning Objectives
To demonstrate mastery of the tasks in this course, participants must be able to do the following within the given time limit and with the materials, tools, and equipment supplied:

LO1: Prepare for crowd and traffic control operations in accordance with operational and safety requirements

LO2: Conduct crowd management and traffic control using approved methods, signals, and equipment

LO3: Identify crowd or traffic-related risks and take appropriate actions to maintain safety and order
Target Audience
This course is designed primarily for security personnel performing the role of a licensed Security Officer, including those required to carry out crowd and traffic control duties at events, premises, public areas, or roadways.

• Be able to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4

• Be vigilant at all times
Class Size
The recommended class size for this WSQ Course is a maximum of 20 participants. The minimum class size is 6 participants.

A practical–oriented training approach is used in the delivery of this course, which may

Assessment Methodology
All the knowledge and abilities in this course will be assessed. The summative assessment will be conducted by POLWEL Approved Assessment Organisation (AAO). Participants must complete all assessment activities on an individual basis.
